The Old Castle
A total concept with accommodation and breakfast
Two kilometers south of Linköping on Rengen's beach and surrounded by the beautiful East Gothic nature lies the The Old Castle, Bjärka-Säby. Its first bride and groom stepped through the gate in 1632. Many are the holidays that have been celebrated between its bricked stone walls.
Greet the guests on the beautiful castle grounds, on the terrace with a view of the Rengen or in front of the fire in the Dining Room. Have dinner in a hall from the 17th century that can accommodate 79 guests. The dining room with its whitewashed walls and beautiful view of the lake gives the weddings/celebrations celebrated here an atmospheric and beautiful setting. Then let the party culminate on the third floor in the Old Castle's ballroom and social room, where guests gather for continued joy and conviviality.
In the Old Castle and in the guest wing, there is the possibility of overnight accommodation for approx. 50 guests. There is also a private bridal suite. Should you need more beds, there are several possibilities in the immediate area. Parking for guests is opposite the Old Castle.

Ballroom & social room
The Old Castle in Bjärka-Säby is a place surrounded by fantastic nature and historical surroundings. Facing south towards Lake Rengen, on the large terrace, you can enjoy an unbeatable view during the wedding or bridal shower. During the hottest days, you can also stay on the beautiful castle grounds, as the shade from the building provides a little extra coolness.
If you want a lovely autumn or winter wedding, we create the best conditions to create an enchanting atmosphere. The guests are then greeted by crackling fire baskets and marshals, and are then welcomed into a lovely mingling in the dining room where the fire is lit and the candles create a cozy and warm atmosphere.
We cooperate with several catering companies that are very used to weddings in our premises and provide the guests with the best possible service throughout the evening.
After dinner, the festivities continue on the third floor, where everything needed for a really successful evening is housed on one level - ballroom, bar and several social rooms.
When the evening is over, the guests who want to stay can easily make their way to the bedrooms downstairs, on the middle floor, or just trudge across the castle floor to the guest wing, where the rest of the rooms are located.
On Sunday, breakfast is served in the Old Castle's dining room and you have time to spend a little extra time with loved ones, which is usually an appreciated and nice end to the wedding weekend!

The magazine
The large venue for dinner & party
Magasinet, solidly built in 1884, is enthroned on a small hill, nestled in the beautiful East Gothic nature.
Here, up to 150 guests can enjoy its rustic elegance in a different and historic setting. It is possible to adapt the surfaces so that the venue is just as suitable for a smaller wedding as a large one.

The venue consists of three floors - entrance floor with toilet area and then two floors where you choose how you want to dispose of the surfaces with dinner & party. A newly built bar can be found on the top floor.

Magazine + Old Castle
If you don't want the festivities to be limited to the Magasinet, it is perfectly possible to rent to the Old Castle. You can then, for example, start with a pre-drink at the castle and then go up to Magasinet together when it's time for dinner and party. When the evening comes to an end, all guests can easily get back to the castle and sleep comfortably to enjoy a joint breakfast in the dining room the next day.

The cathedral
A magnificent & unique venue
Bjärka-Säby has a hay hill, built in 1875.
During the winter months, it is used as a storage room for boats and caravans. In the summer, when it is empty, it is a truly fantastic and different venue with an atmosphere that can only be experienced on site. A wedding in the "Cathedral" is guaranteed to be something out of the ordinary.
